BURBANK, Calif. – July 20, 2005 – Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment will extend the Friends franchise to the videogame space with FRIENDS: THE ONE WITH ALL THE TRIVIA for console and PC. Scheduled for nationwide release on Nov. 15, 2005, the FRIENDS: THE ONE WITH ALL THE TRIVIA videogame will launch in conjunction with the final season of the #1 selling TV on DVD franchise, Friends: The Complete Tenth Season, from Warner Home Video (WHV).
"With the incredible 'Friends' television series and DVD phenomenon, many people have watched episodes countless times and have become experts, so it was natural to create an accessible and exciting videogame that could challenge their knowledge," said Jason Hall, Senior Vice President for Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. "Working together and leveraging cross-divisional Warner Bros. competencies has enabled the studio to design, create and distribute FRIENDS: THE ONE WITH ALL THE TRIVIA along with the tenth and final season on DVD, giving fans a chance to complete their collection and their 'Friends' experience with a fun quiz format including memorable clips and characters from the show."
FRIENDS: THE ONE WITH ALL THE TRIVIA is a question and answer based videogame using over 600 memorable episodic clips, audio soundbites, catchphrases and live-audience laughter from all 10 seasons of the hit show to test players' "Friends" knowledge. Recurring show characters Janice (Maggie Wheeler) and Gunther (James Michael Tyler) host the game – reading over 3,000 interactive questions and guiding players through fast-paced gameplay including different single and multi-player game options.
The perfect companion piece to the complete "Friends" DVD collection, FRIENDS: THE ONE WITH ALL THE TRIVIA is being developed by Artech Studios with Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment overseeing development and production and WHV handling distribution of the game. The videogame will be available at mass-market and videogame retailers nationwide for a suggested retail price (SRP) of $19.99.
